A Polar2018 é a próxima conferência Polar que reunirá as comunidades científicas árticas e antárticas, IASC e SCAR e que terá lugar em Davos, na Suíça, de 15 a 26 de junho de 2018.

Que dia fantástico com pessoas fabulosas!!!

Foi um dia completamente dedicado às regiões polares, à ciência polar  e à forma como podemos promover o seu conhecimento junto da sociedade.

Porque é que os ursos polares não comem pinguins? Qual a diferença entre o permafrost do Ártico e da Antártida? Que evidencias já existem das consequências das alterações climáticas? Como podemos promover junto dos alunos e da comunidade a tomada de ação relativamente  a este desafios? foram algumas das questões debatidas cujas respostas foram chegando.A partilha de conhecimento, estratégias, experiências,  pontos de vista e sugestões futuras foram  constantes nesta workshop que contou com professores, educadores, cientistas polares, investigadores da área da educação e muito entusiasmo, alegria, ciência,debate e informação.

Com toda a certeza uma iniciativa a continuar!!

What a fantastic day with amazing  people !!!

It was a full day dedicated to the polar regions, polar science and how we can promote their knowledge to society.

Why do polar bears do not eat penguins? What is the difference between the Arctic and Antarctic permafrost? What evidence there is already of the consequences of climate change? How can we promote awareness among students and the community taking action in relation to this big challenge? These were some of the issues discussed and the answers were coming.The sharing of knowledge, strategies, experiences, views and featuresuggestions are contained in this workshop with teachers, educators, polar scientists, researchers in the field of education and enthusiasm, joy, science, debate and information.
An initiative to continue for sure!!

Ciência às Claras!…Brightening the science !!

Uma vez por mês vamos pôr a ciência às Claras!!

Foi assim que decidimos avançar com este desafio

Esta iniciativa da APECS Portugal  pretende desmistificar a linguagem dos artigos científicos. Assim a cada mês um artigo sobre uma  das áreas da ciência polar será simplificado ao nível da informação e linguagem. O objetivo é levar a ciência polar  a todos , permitindo a qualquer cidadão ( dos 6 aos 106..) que se interesse pelo tema ou queira saber mais sobre as regiões polares e a ciência que por lá se faz tenha disponível a informação publicada nos artigos científicos.

A ciência pode parecer um  bicho de 7 cabeças mas …basta acender a luz!!

Once a month we will enlighten the science !!

This initiative from APECS Portugal aims to demystify the language of scientific papers. Thus, each month an article on one area of the polar science will be simplified in terms of information and language. The goal is to get the polar science at all, allowing any citizen (from 6 to 106 years old) that is interested in the subject or want to know more about the polar regions and polar science, have available information published in the articles scientific.

Science can seem like a beast with 7 heads, but… we need to just turnon the light!!

Vision or Smell, which sence wandering albatrosses use during their foraging? Don’t lose time, follow the link and discovery it in the “Science in the Clear” of February!

2º Workshop Educação e Ciência: da Investigação Polar à Sala de Aula / 2nd Workshop Education & Science: polar research to the classroom “!!

Está a chegar a 2ª edição doWorkshop Nacional para professores e educadores sobre educação e ciência polares intitulado ” Educação & Ciência: da investigação polar à sala de aula”!!

Esta workshop é destinada a professores e educadores, de todos os graus de ensino e disciplinas. A iniciativa é organizada pela Polar Educators Portugal e Instituto de Educação da Universidade de Lisboa e tem a chancela do Programa Polar Português, da Apecs Portugal, do Instituto de Educação e Cidadania e Polar Educators International.

Pretende-se dar noções básicas sobre as regiões polares (através de palestras dadas por cientistas polares) úteis para as aulas, estimular a partilha de experiências educativas entre professores, educadores e cientistas, e desta forma promover o debate, e avaliação, do que tem vindo a ser feito a nível educativo sobre as regiões polares em Portugal. Pretende-se também ter um olhar para o futuro, além de dar a conhecer o projecto educativo, e a ciência polar que se faz no nosso país.

Esta é uma oportunidade única de estar entre colegas que partilham a mesma visão da educação e entusiasmo pelas regiões polares e que só acontece de 2 em 2 anos.

A inscrição é grátis, mas o número de participantes é limitado. Queres participar? basta enviar um email para educacao.propolar@gmail.com, até 19 de Fevereiro.

The 2nd edition of the Portuguese National Workshop for teachers and educators on polar science and education is coming!!

5th March, Lisbon.

This workshop is designed for teachers and educators from all educational levels and disciplines. The initiative is organized by Polar Educators Portugal and Institute of Education, University of Lisbon, with the support of the Portuguese Program Polar, APECS Portugal, Institute of Education and Citizenship and Polar Educators International.

This is a unique opportunity to be among colleagues who share the same vision and enthusiasm of education  for the polar regions and takes place only 2 in 2 years.
